Richard Newton firstname.lastname@example.org The Broadmoor Real Estate Group Inc.
Land Use ConsultantA native of England, Richard came to the U. S. in 1965 to work at the Potomac Horse Center in Gaithersburg, MD. His expertise in building cross country fences soon became apparent with his skills in constant demand as the fledgling sport began to flourish in this country. Richard ultimately ventured out on his own and established Newcourse Company LLC, which built every U. S. international course from 1972 through 1984, including the 1978 World Championships in Lexington, KY, and the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, CA. A FEI course designer, Richard’s work became recognized by the United States Combined Training Association (then-USCTA, now USEA) which awarded him its prestigious Governor’s and Wofford Cups in 1984, the year our Olympic 3-Day team won the gold over a course Richard built. His experience in course design and construction necessitated looking at raw land and incorporating its features into the cross country course using natural materials whose presence on a given course made sense while challenging horses and riders, a rare skill he honed over 20+ years. After retiring from the 3-Day world, he began building show jumps for a variety of clients, including the 1996 Olympic Games, the 2010 World Equestrian Games, the North American Young Riders Championships, the Pan American Games, and corporate clients like Rolex, Cargill, and Wells Fargo. A knowledgeable horseman, former general contractor, and equestrian facility designer, Richard understands the need for efficiency in designing an equestrian facility to promote smooth operations while working with the existing topography as much as possible, and providing comfort for horses and riders. His expertise will ensure you maximize the use of your property while minimizing your investment in developing it.
